Black Men & White Women: Still a Hot Topic?

Essence.com says yes!

But I think they're just reaching really far to find a talking point for Beyonce's new movie "Obsessed." Do we (Black women) still have a problem with our brothers being with women that don't look like their mothers? Are we still talking about that? That's so 1995, I think.

Please weigh in. Is this still a hot topic?

  1. To be 100% honest sometimes I do feel some type of way about black and white relationships but I always clean up my rude thoughts and really notice that it must be real love. When two people are so different from one another they have to put so much effort in trying to make it work which in my case means it has to be something real they feel for each other.

i wouldnt mind dating a white man as long as he is open-minded and can treat me right. why not?

  2. I agree with Brown Sugar. Love can transcend all differences, including race and culture. And if it's real love then let that black man and his white woman be. However, I do know personally one too many black man who goes for white women (or non-black women in general) for the classic (and ridiculous) reason that black woman can be "difficult" to deal with. But I feel like any black man who goes for other women because they're intimidated by certain black women for being head-strong (which I don't think is even necessarily a negative thing) is no man I want anyway. I'd prefer a real one. So in the end it's no loss for me, which is why I feel no need to give the it much thought. Whether it's because of true love (which is a great thing) or it's because the man is weak and insecure, it's not a hot topic so let's just move on.
